Summary: From the Prairie Tales book of Bowman County, N.D. history, this photograph is of the interior of John Smith's barbershop, in the town of Scranton (N.D.). There are two barbers, one giving a haircut, and the other shaving a reclining customer. A customer awaits his turn. Interesting to note are the fronds rigged to the ceiling, to provide circulation and discourage flies. The barbers are identified as John Smith (on right), and Hy Larson (on left).
