Title: Boys and girls with Sisters outside St. Mary Catholic Mission Boarding School in Belcourt, Rolette County (D.T.)

Summary: Wide angle view of Mission school and dormitories where students lived at the boarding school with the teachers, Sisters of Mercy of the Union and their students arranged in two groups, girls to photo left of a barbed wire fence and boys to right arrayed in front of the school. The school is a three story wood frame building with a tower and upper and lower porches on the front. The side entrance has a mudroom and an attached kitchen. Two story wood framed buildings used as dormitories are visible behind the man in the horse drawn wagon.

Summary: At some point in time the State Historical Society separated photographs into collections by size. The A collection consists of items 4 X 5” or less, the B collection consists of items 5 X 7” or less, the C collection consists of items 8 X 10” or less, the D collection consists of items 11 X 14” or less, and the E collection consists of items larger than 11 X 14”.
