Summary: View of the wrecked steamboat Benton. A large group of men are gathered near the stern.||The Benton, a sternwheel packet with a wood hull, was built in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1875, for T.C. Power & Bros., and I.G. Baker & Co., for Missouri River service. She had a long career in which she made 44 trips to Fort Benton, more trips than any other boat serving Fort Benton. She was sold in 1889 and wrecked in 1897 at Sioux City.
