Summary: Horses drink from a stream running alongside Big Foot's village in South Dakota. Many tipis dot the land and people are visible standing in the open areas.||This photograph of Big Foot’s village of Minneconjou Lakotas was taken shortly before Big Foot set off for Pine Ridge Reservation. Big Foot was a spiritual leader who wanted to end the conflict between the Ghost Dancers and the Army. Big Foot and more than 150 of his band were killed at the Massacre of Wounded Knee on December 29, 1890.
