Summary: Dr. Bentley, his daughter, Miram (later Mrs. J. B. Belk) and their black dog stand on the stairs leading up to their house on Third Street. The house is a two story frame house with wooden siding, a mud room addition on the front protecting the door from extreme weather. Double-hung sash windows are visible on the front and sides. There appears to be two additions on the back. More unattached buildings are visible beyond these. A wooden horse exerciser is in the yard on photo right. A picket fence and bushes shield the property from the neighbor's house photo left. A brick retaining wall lines the boardwalk on street level and wood protectors surround young trees planted next to the street. The electric pole photo right has paper signs promoting
