Summary: A street extends into the distance. A lawn with trees is in the right foreground. A man is standing on top of a hay wagon on the street beside the lawn. Storefronts are visible on both sides of the street. There is a flagpole and flag at upper right. In the distance a crowd is on the street and there are many horses and wagons. Grand Forks was founded in 1868. The city grew rapidly from 1870 to 1889.
