Title: Supply wagons for Black Hills Expedition assembling in Bismarck (N.D.)

Summary: Group of covered wagons pulled by four horse teams gather on the dirt road. In the background is the Sheridan Hotel (later known as the Northwest Hotel). It was located on the corner of Main Avenue and 5th Street in downtown Bismarck. Used as an exposition building, and headquarters for the Nonpartisan League, it was destroyed by fire in 1921. A large, three-story frame hotel it is under construction in this image. Photo left, two men watch as the supply wagons ready for moving out. In the far background are tents and small shacks.
