Folder: 0000.000
Item: 00007
Title: Bird's eye view of Mondak (Mont.)
Date: 1903-1920
Creator: Syverud, Henry B
Summary: A overview of the town. Wooden buildings stand in irregular patterns. There are no proper streets. Two grain elevators stand against the river.||Mondak was founded in 1903. The town was just across from Williston, N.D. Mondak boasted a dozen saloons at its peak and was popular because North Dakota was "dry" at the time. Prohibition, in effect starting in 1920, ruined this town and in 1928 fire destroyed what buildings remained.
