Summary: From top left: Long Soldier (often misidentified as Bloody Knife), Mrs. Elizabeth B. Custer, Mrs. Margaret Custer Calhoun, First Lieutenant Algernon E. Smith, First Lieutenant James Calhoun. Lower rows: First Lieutenant Thomas W. Custer, Mrs. Nettie Smith, Mrs. Emma Wadsworth, Herbert Swett, Second Lieutenant Richard E. Thompson, Captain Myles Keogh, Miss Nellie Wadsworth, Mrs. Myles Moylan, Boston Custer, Captain Stephen Baker, Miss Emily Watson and Lieutenant Colonel George A. Custer. Some of the officers and ladies of the 7th Cavalry pose for a photograph on the front steps of one of the buildings at Fort Abraham Lincoln, some of the ladies hold fans. An Indian stands on the front porch wrapped in a blanket. The original fort and buildings at Fort Abraham Lincoln were disassembled in 1894. A reconstruction of the Custer House was opened to the public in June 1989.
