Summary: Missouri River Steamboat Undine lying at river bank on August 21 1885 after taking aboard a Methodist Sunday School Excursion party. The excursion was from the Bismarck river landing to Fort Abraham Lincoln, where a picnic was held, and back. Two original prints, photographer unknown. One is heavily retouched and apparently is the one printed in the The Record of February 1897, p. 11 erroneously labeled "July 4, 1876." The hand-coloured image was donated by Mrs. Ermelia Braikwaite and William Braikwaite; the second un-coloured version was donated by Mrs. Faunce.
