Summary: A stereographic photograph of a Fargo street in 1873. Camera view to southeast from top of Headquarters Hotel. Buildings and tents line the street. Railroad tracks are in the foreground.||Fargo was founded as The Crossing in 1871 and was known unofficially as Tent City. The name changed first to Centralia, then to Fargo in 1872. The city, located on the Red River, is the seat of Cass County.
