Purpose of the meeting, the first of its kind ever staged by the legion, is to “gear the 2,700,000 member legion for the challenge of the ‘60’s,” according to national commander William R. Burke. Taking a prominent part in the planning sessions are Senator Milton Young, W.J. Gust. Jr. (St. Thomas) and Senator Burdick.
