Summary: Three quarter full view of Mrs. Margaret Roberts sitting in a straight back chair. She is dressed in a one piece long dress with frills at the neck, shoulders and upper arms. She is holding a book on her lap.||Margaret Roberts was born in Ireland in 1853 but arrived in Dakota Territory in 1877. She and her husband J. Lloyd began a ranching operation near Medora. Margaret was left to run the ranch with her small children after her husband was murdered in 1886. She became a friend of Theodore Roosevelt during his time in the Badlands.
