Summary: Consists of published articles and photographs by and about Andes in the Mountrail County Record, New Town News, McLean County Independent, the BSC Mystician, and other titles, as well as research and miscellaneous materials related to his articles and book The Elders : Stories from Fort Berthold (as well as his upcoming book "Submerged). The collection reflects major themes in Andes' life, including: his upbringing, family, and home in Makoti, N.D.; school materials (Bismarck State College and high school); the Wabek schoolhouse project; book "The Elders" (and work with Marilyn Hudson, the MHA Nation, Garrison Dam, Elbowoods area, etc.); and work at various newspapers in the state. There is extensive documentation of the Makoti Threshing show in the collection, including bumper stickers, posters, press, programs and other printed material.
