Title: J. S. Johnson collection of pottery, petrified clams, bone instrument, and crystallized balls

Summary: Collection of retired farmer J. S. Johnson who lived close to the N.D. border on the Mont. side. The two pieces of pottery are the only ones I have ever heard of found out here. The petrified clams are very hard and colors show quite natural, of shells. 2nd piece on left of black card on bottom is a part of some bone instrument. Two round balls upper right hand corner of black are some kind of crystallized formation.

Summary: Henry B. Syverud sent most of these mages over a period of years in letters to Russell Reid, Superintendent of the State Historical Society. The letters are in Series 30203 and describe the photos. His brother, Edgar, took some of the photos.
