Title: Family (Leonard) in front of tarpaper claim shack
Date: circa 1910
Creator: Harrison, Job V
Summary: An unidentified family of 6 poses outside a home covered in tarpaper near Devils Lake (N.D.) The man of the house holds an ax near the grindstone on which a small boy leans his arm. A well with buckets and pulley and drinking cups is visible behind and to the left of these two people. Two little girls in dresses and hair bows stand near their obviously pregnant, seated mother. On a bench beside her chair sit a small dog and a toddler. The house behind is a tar-paper claim shack with a shed addition containing the enrty door. A single window is framed in the wall of the original shack. A short hand-made ladder rests against the side of the shed addition. __Patron identifies this family as Leonard family of Towner County. See control file for more details.
