Title: School children and adults of the Atkinson School District, Griffin (N.D.)
Date: Circa 1910
Inscription/Marks: On the back: "Picture of Atkinson school district, Marion Twp, Griffin, N.D. Original in possession of Mrs. Marten of Rolfsnes, Rhame, sent by Agnes Potter, Bowman 1/19/65", and col. 50-08.
Summary: Three horse drawn school wagons sit outside the Atkinson School District school building in Griffin (N.D.). Children stand in front of the wagons, and some sit on top of the wagons. "Atkinson School Dist. No. 7" is painted on the wagons, and a 48 star flag flies from the top of the building. The building is a single-story wood-framed building with a cross-gable roof containing a lower section. At least three dozen children are posing in this ca. 1910 scene, along with assorted adult teachers and drivers.
