Title: Sakakawea statue on the Capital Grounds, Bismarck (N.D.)
Date: 1950
Inscription/Marks: On the back: col. 63-06 (now 00006c), and the red stamped "501C".
Summary: The statue of Sakakawea and her child is by Leonard Crunelle (1872–1944), it was dedicated in 1910 on the grounds of the state capitol in Bismarck. The bronze statue is on a boulder plinth, set in a level area on the lawn, with trees close by. The model for Sakakawea was her granddaughter, Mink Woman, from the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in North Dakota. The General Federation of Women's Clubs of North Dakota raised funds the statue, and for the replica which is displayed in Monument Hall in Washington, D.C. Dated to 1950 by the context of the rest of the related images in the collection of Theo Mattson.

Summary: Images of Sanish (N.D.) before inundation by the Garrison Dam, Fort McKeen, the North Dakota Capitol Grounds, the Menoken Indian Village, and agricultural scenes, including several images of the Dalrymple farm Cass County (N.D.).
