Summary: Three North Dakota Highway Patrolmen, and four other uniformed police and law enforcement officers, one controlling a police dog, stand beside a couple of police vehicles on the tarmac at the airport in Bismarck, N.D., serving as a detail for the visit of presidential candidate Jimmy Carter. In the foreground is a sign proclaiming "Police line do not cross". Taken on September 14, 1976, by Tribune photographer and journalist Ted Quanrud and part of a large collection of images donated by the Bismarck Tribune.
