Summary: While the crowd of attendees stand by their seats applauding, Gubernatorial candidate and current governor, Art Link walks with his wife, Grace, and another man, down the aisle before a speech at the 1976 North Dakota Democratic Convention. Held at the Civic Center in Bismarck, North Dakota, a campaign sign proclaiming "Knutson Can Win", hangs on the retracted bleachers along the wall. Grace Link wears a light dress with a dark collar and a striped jacket, her husband is in a subdued dark suit, with a white shirt and dark tie. The man who is not clearly identified wears a top-stitched meduim hued suit and has an identification badge on his lapel. The Democratic Convention ran that year from June 24 through June 26. Taken during the convention, by a Bismarck Tribune photographer, possibly Leo LaLonde, Steve Wallick, Ted Quanrud, or Jerry Anderson, all working at the paper during this period, and part of a collection of several decades of newspaper photographs donated by the Tribune.
