Date: 7/1912
Creator: Keeling, Mae Emma
Inscription/Marks: [front of card] Col. 000205-00002. A buggy drawn by oxen. [back in red ink] #2 Mildred K. Jahde Col 171. [back-typewritten] One summer we drove a team of horses and a spring wagon from the railway station of Berthold, N.D. to my grandfather's house near Stanley, No. Dak. Which is about 50 miles. We changed horses going and coming. We started one day and drove most of the night. My mother had a camera along and took this picture. I can remember the people laughing at the buggy because oxen were used mostly for heavy loads and plowing. Yet they wanted to send the picture back East of the family and they were very proud of the oxen. This got them all on one card. Mildred K. Jahde. June 1963.
Summary: A man is seated in suit, pant, and brimmed hat holding reins for oxen pulling his buggy. Next to him and behind him are his wife, toddler and two boys. They are stopped on a grassy hillside.
