Inscription/Marks: [back-printed in black] 00205-00005 Winter Scene Of The Badlands Theodore Roosevelt National Memorial Park, North Dakota. The stark outlines of the buttes are softened by a light covering of snow. The Badlands cedars cast a shadow to make a Christmas card scene. Distributed by Saks News, Inc., Bismarck, N.D. 58501. Mike Roberts Berkeley 94710. C29101. [postmark] Butte, MT Jan 5 AM 1977. [back in black ink] Hope to see you soon, but in the meantime take good care of the cats-I am now traveling west so it should not be to long. Chris. R. L. (Pinkey) Nelson, 1512 Rainier So. Seattle, WA. 98144. 13 cent stamp upper right corner, cancelled with wavy lines.
Summary: Looking from road across valley to snow covered buttes and valleys. A post and barbed wire fence separates the easement from the park area. Cedar and pine trees dot the hillsides that have patches of snow. A blue sky with cirrus clouds backs the scene.
