Summary: Under the direction of their den mother, Mrs. Sid Sloven, members of Den 3, Pack 18, of the Northridge School Cub Scouts carved this jack O'lantern for the pediatrics ward of St. Alexius Hospital. Here, with the gift are, left to right, Paul Krueger, 8; Jeffrey Stromstad, 8; Gary Hall, 9; David Sloven, 9; Scott Thoemke, 8, and Duane Stroh, 9. (Sloven, Saralee May Greenberg--1925-Living Mrs. Sid Sloven is Saralee May Greenberg, born May 1, 1925, the daughter of Pauline Auerbach and Ben Greenberg. Saralee and her husband were members of the Bismarck Jewish community (Temple Bnai Ephraim) through 1995 when they retired to Sun City, Arizona. Sidney Harry Sloven passed away in 2008 and is buried in the Bismarck Jewish Cemetery, Bismarck (N.D.). SHSND Museums has a number of items from Saralee, including some dolls and her grandmother’s shawl brought from Russia. Sloven, Sidney Harry--1920-2008)
