Inscription/Marks: [front-print] Deaconess Hospital, Grafton, N.D. [back-written] Spent four hours at dentist today so haven't been to church yet. Mrs. Suter and I are going tonight. Had a tooth crowned and two filled. Rather expensive business but it had to be done. Will be home Saturday I guess--Kate. [addressed] Miss Florence Phair, Crystal, N. Dak.
Summary: A two story wooden building which resembles a home. A tall chimney rises from the rear right corner of the building. A woman stands near the stairs in front of the building. Trees run alongside the sidewalk in the foreground. Deaconess Hospital opened in 1904. The facility was administered by Lutheran sisters. In 1920 this wooden structure was replaced with a brick hospital.
