Well I hope everything goes well and you will have an enjoyable time. I suppose that you will be here soon after. With best regards, Sincerely- C. D Hedlund. Miss Jane McRae. Atwater, Minn.
Summary: A bend in the river leads to a railroad bridge in the distance. Both shores are wooded. In the winter of 1880-1881 the St. Paul, Minneapolis & Manitoba Railroad reached Fargo. In 1889 the name of the rail line changed to the Great Northern Railway. The bridge featured a specially constructed barrier to prevent damage during ice out and spring floods.
