Title: Governor Moses christening the Northwest Airlines plane "City of Bismarck" at the Bismarck Airport

Summary: Six men, including Governor John Moses, stand in front of an airplane on the tarmack. The man furthest to the right wears a pilot's uniform, while the rest are in suits. The plane is named 'City of Bismarck'.||The first landing strip in Bismarck was a pasture between Bismarck and Mandan. The first true airport owned by the city was constructed in the 1920s on South Washington on leased property. In 1940, the city purchased 140 acres. In 1947, the city acquired an additional 160 acres for the airport. This photograph is set in the middle of this growth.
