Title: Steamer Manitoba at Winnipeg (Man.)

Inscription/Marks: This is the steamboat Manitoba often referred to as the "Queen of the Red River". The name Manitoba can be seen with a magnifying glass. At the right is another boat which appears to be the Cheyenne. It is probably that this was taken at the junction of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers--Roy P. Johnson fargo 3/15/1961
Summary: The steamboat Manitoba is moored alongside the Cheyenne. "Winnipeg & Western Transportation Co." is visible on both boats. People can be seen on all decks of the Manitoba.||The Manitoba, a sternwheel steamboat with a wood hull, was built in Moorhead, Minnesota, in 1875. She operated on the Red River of the North and was wrecked at the mouth of the Sturgeon River, Sask., April 1885.
