Title: Medora with her children, Louis and Athenais, and staff on the steps of the Chateau de Mores
Date: 1886
Inscription/Marks: On the back is the date of the photograph, and 0042-40.
Summary: Medora Von Hoffmann Vallombrosa, the Marquise de Mores poses in a dark corseted dress with dark coat, knotted scarf and dark hat, seated in the middle of group of men, women and children. They are arranged on the steps of the Chateau de Mores, in Medora (D.T.) Her daughter Athenais and son Louis are seated on the bottom step between two women wearing long skirts, white blouse and aprons. These women would be the nurse and nanny for the children of the house. A large dog is lies on the ground in front of the children. To Medora's left are two women wearing dark blouses and white aprons and an man is to Medora's right wearing work clothes with striped pants, light buttoned coat with a spotted scarf tied around his neck.
